Expand Metro Service To Sangareddy Town, Says Chintha Prabhakar

Chintha Prabhakar urged the expansion of metro service to Sangareddy town, highlighting the need for improved urban connectivity and mobility. He said enhanced rail links would ease pressure on road networks and support daily commuters who travel to nearby city centres for work and education. The call framed metro extension as a strategic step to integrate Sangareddy with regional growth corridors. He noted that timely investment in infrastructure would be essential to meet rising commuter demand.

Prabhakar outlined that improved public transport could stimulate local commerce, attract investment and enable more balanced development across the district. He emphasised that better transit would reduce long distance vehicular traffic, lower emissions and enhance the quality of life for residents. The proposal was presented as a means to facilitate sustainable urban expansion while addressing immediate transport needs. Stakeholders were urged to consider inclusive design that addresses the needs of elderly and differently abled residents.

He appealed to the state government and urban planners to initiate detailed feasibility studies and consult with local authorities and communities before finalising routes. Prabhakar recommended alignment with existing bus services and feeder networks to ensure seamless last mile connectivity and to maximise ridership. He also urged consideration of phased implementation to manage costs and logistical challenges. Public consultations and environmental assessments were recommended as part of the preparatory work.

The representative expressed confidence that collaborative planning could fast track project approvals and mobilise the necessary resources from public and private partners. He called for transparent timelines and stakeholder engagement to build public trust and to refine the project design. The appeal is likely to renew discussion on regional transport priorities and on how to balance growth with sustainable mobility. Local business groups and civic organisations were encouraged to participate in the planning dialogue.
