HMR Finalising DPR for LB Nagar-Hayathnagar Metro Corridor

Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) is in the final stages of preparing the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the LB Nagar-Hayathnagar corridor, a key segment of the city's Phase II metro expansion. This project aims to extend the metro network and improve connectivity in the eastern parts of Hyderabad.

The proposed corridor will span approximately 5 kilometres, connecting LB Nagar with Hayathnagar, and is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion on this busy stretch. The extension will provide a seamless and efficient public transport option for commuters, enhancing the overall transit experience in the city.

HMR officials have been conducting extensive surveys and feasibility studies to ensure the project's viability and effectiveness. The DPR will include detailed plans for the alignment, station locations, estimated costs, and construction timelines. Once finalised, the report will be submitted to the state government for approval and funding.

The LB Nagar-Hayathnagar metro corridor is a part of the broader Phase II expansion plan, which aims to cover underserved areas and improve the reach of the metro system. This expansion is crucial for accommodating Hyderabad's growing population and urban sprawl, promoting sustainable urban mobility.

Residents and local businesses have welcomed the project, anticipating reduced travel times and improved accessibility. The new corridor is expected to boost economic activity in the region by facilitating easier movement of people and goods.

HMR's commitment to expanding the metro network reflects its dedication to providing efficient, reliable, and eco-friendly public transportation. The LB Nagar-Hayathnagar corridor is set to play a pivotal role in the city's transit infrastructure, fostering better connectivity and urban development.
