Bengaluru Metro's Hebbal-Sarjapur line gets green signal

Bengaluru Metro’s Hebbal-Sarjapur Line, part of Phase 3A of Namma Metro, has received approval from the state Finance Department, marking a significant step forward in the city's metro expansion. The 36.59 km line will connect northern and southern parts of Bengaluru, passing through the city center.

The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the project is expected to be presented to the state cabinet by the end of the month. The project, which is estimated to cost ?28,405 crore, gained approval less than three weeks after the Urban Development Department (UDD) gave administrative consent.

Phase 3A will include 28 stations—17 elevated and 11 underground—with four key interchange points: Iblur (Outer Ring Road), Dairy Circle, KR Circle, and Hebbal. Once the cabinet gives its final approval, the plan will be forwarded to the Union government for statutory clearances, with the Centre contributing up to 20% of the project cost.
